Do not turn on RED

A few times I was stopped at Red Light and noticed a "No Turn On Red"
sign.
The difference was on the other side of the street, there wasn't a sign saying the same law?
"Turn whenever you wish" on the one side, and then on the other "Turn after the light had changed?" That was the side I was on.
But if there is not much traffic, it should be time to
make the turn before more traffic comes that way.
Am I crazy?
I know where it's more hectic, these rules might come into place more often?
But to be pulled over for this (and I've seen it) is a sick joke to me.

Cop's that are actually where, this crime may have taken place???
Wouldn't call out a crime so petty. They have way more to worry about than a traffic violation.

I'm getting way ahead of myself though? Most rules are made because of someone in the past? They have gone and screwed it up for everyone else... But the authority figures will not let it go???
(We are all just like the people in the past and cannot learn from our mistakes!)
